Markaz wins two Lipper Awards in 2012

Kuwait Financial Centre S.A.K. “Markaz”, the prominent investment banking and asset management company in the Middle East, won two Lipper Awards. The awards recognize “Markaz Fund for Excellent Yields -MUMTAZ” and “Markaz Islamic Fund” as best Kuwaiti equity fund over the period of five years.

With this addition, Markaz funds won a total of 12 Lipper awards during the last five years. Lipper awards are granted by Thomson Reuters, the world’s leading business data provider.

Ms. Amani Al-Omani, Executive Vice-President - MENA Equities at Markaz said: “The award reflects our prudent risk management policy at Markaz combined with our commitment to achieve the best performance for our clients by following a research driven methodology and investing in high quality assets.”

"Markaz Fund for Excellent Yields - Mumtaz" was established in 1999 and it trades local equity. “Mumtaz” received "A" Fund Management Ratings from Standard & Poor's and won 7 Lipper Awards in the years 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2012.

“Markaz Islamic Fund” was established in 2003 and it deals with local Sharia’ compliant equity. “Markaz Islamic Fund” won four Lipper Award in the years 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2012.
