Employee Wellness Event
Reinforcing its people-first culture, Kuwait Financial Centre “Markaz,” successfully hosted its first employee event of the year. The seminar, Perspectives on Change: How mindset and discipline influence motivation and performance, comes in line with one of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) pillars; Building Human Capacity.

Delivered by multidisciplinary psychotherapist and founder of Masar Consults, Zaina Al Zabin, the seminar outlined a science-based approach to motivation, wellness, the maximization of individual potential, and the ability to overcome pressures, especially post-Covid. The session was organized to help members of Markaz continue to serve clients excellently, utilizing practical advice on how to confidently adapt to change as Markaz evolves through its refocused strategy.

Perspectives on Change is the first of an extensive lineup of company-wide activities, training sessions and events, led by the Markaz HR Department and guided by its internal culture strategy, which aims to enhance overall employee engagement, workplace morale, and productivity, with the overall goal of encouraging a cohesive and healthy work climate, company-wide.

Commenting on the event’s success and the eventful year ahead, Mr. Peter Kelly, Executive Vice President, Human Resources, Markaz, said: “At Markaz, we are committed to creating a business environment that prioritizes good governance and truly sustainable development, and building human capacity in all its forms. This first event of 2023 has set the stage for further discussions around employee wellness support services at Markaz. It also helped break any potential stigma around the ever-important and often-sensitive topics of lifestyle choices and mental health, an outcome we were especially aiming to achieve. We look forward to engaging our valued Markaz team members in related initiatives over the coming months.”

Markaz’s commitment to positively impacting the personal, professional and family lives of its employees was evident throughout 2022, via a series of highly attended events to assist and empower staff to balance the many conflicting pressures we can all experience on a daily basis.

With 2023 shaping up to be a transformative year at Markaz, the company looks forward to reinforcing its reputation as the home for many of Kuwait’s best and brightest investment sector talents.
