Markaz is a co sponsor for the Euromoney Kuwait Conference 2011 titled “Financing Development, Developing Finance” that will be held April 11-12, 2011 in Arraya Ballroom Marriott Courtyard, and co-hosted by Euromoney and The Ministry of Finance. In the opening session, keynote addresses will be given by H.E. Dr.Mustafa Jassem Al-Shimali, Minister of Finance, State of Kuwait, and H.E. Sheikh Salem AbdulAziz Al-Sabah, Governor, Central Bank of Kuwait.
The conference will commence its panel sessions by discussing the ambitious Kuwait development plan, its rationale, and what are its likely effects on the Kuwaiti financial sector. It will also consider the strategic role to be played by international financiers, advisers and investors. More panel sessions will be held, simultaneously and consecutively, covering a wide range of economic and strategic subjects which will include upgrading project finance capacity, and the role of local banking sector in financing the KDP’s projects.
Mariam Al Suwailem, Assistant Manager -Media & Communications Department at Markaz, said “Our sponsorship of this conference reflects our firm belief in the importance of extending the debate surrounding the plan, the issue of the financial sector and its role in funding, specifically long-term, will remain pivotal in executing many of the plans’ large-scale projects. It’s worth mentioning that Markaz will participate in two panel sessions in the first day of the conference. Mr. Ali Khalil, Chief Operating Officer at Markaz will speak in a panel session titled “Project Finance: Upgrading Capacity” with a group of international speakers. Mr. Abdulaziz Al-Bader, Manager, International Investment and Investment Advisory Department at Markaz will participate in a panel session titled “International Capital Market in Kuwait”. Markaz team will also be available at the company’s booth in the conference sponsors’ exhibition to answer any queries.
